Facing another top-10 opponent, Arizona State (6-3-2) lost to No. 8 USC (8-2-1) by a final score of 2-1 in Southern California.

After losing to the No. 14 Stanford Cardinal and No. 1 UCLA Bruins, the Sun Devils failed to break their now three-game losing streak against the Trojans.

In the first half of play, USC struck quickly. Senior midfielder Croix Bethune scored both goals for the Trojans. She scored the first in the 10th minute and the second in the 16th minute.

Going into the second half down 2-0, it was the opposite as ASU scored first in the 47th minute with a goal by freshman midfielder Enasia Colon. She scored outside of the 18-yard box, and it was her second goal of the season.

As the match came down to the last minute, the Sun Devils kept it close with the Trojans. Both teams had the same number of shots on goal with five, and USC had one more save than ASU 4-3, respectively.

ASU had a huge margin over USC with the amount of shots they took. ASU had 21 total shots while USC had 15.

After facing three straight tough opponents, the Sun Devils travel back home to Tempe to take on the Utah Utes this Friday, October 14. The game starts at 7 p.m. MST on Pac-12 Mountain network.
